dinos22 takes 6128MHz with E8500, Biostar P45 & Corsair DDR2 PC10000 Dominators

Biostar proved yet again that it´s capable of ultra high FSB and some serious overclocks and efficiency with sweet E8500 CPU. This kind of benching rig cannot be paired with anything else other than a monster DDR2 kit. Corsair DDR2 PC10000 Dominators were used in this instance

Test Configuration:

Biostar TPower P45 board
1.88-1,92vcore, 2.68vdimm, 1.69vMCH, 1.47vFSB
Intel Core2 Duo E8500 Q740A497
2GB DDR2 PC10000 Corsair DOMINATORS
(645MHz 1:1 4-4-4-8 timings)
PCI GFX Card MX200
620W Corsair PSU
Stock heatsink on NB (LN2 cooled with small pours)
kingpin F1 Extreme Edition Solid copper CPU LN2 Pot
Big mamma 35L LN2 Dewar
160GB PATA
Windows XP Pro 32bit SP3

This CPU is a monster. It was able to handle -150C and it benchmarked at 6GHz 1M Superpi

Even though this board was a monster fsb clocker i was still fsb limited….. :)

Here are my settings i usually use and then adapt it to whatever cooling i am using….so it would be slightly different for the above run if you know what i mean

CPU : Core2 Duo E8500(Q740A497) best CPU i’ve EVER had :D [EDIT]…errrr maybe my Opteron 146 with 11x multi still takes the cake
CPU cooling : TTBig Typhoon
Chipset Cooling : stock with extra fan
Mem : 2GB Kit of Crucial Ballistix
2GB DDR2 PC10000 Corsair Dominator “dead” kit for CAS4 << still works eeek even it tons of errors in memtest heheh
VGA : PCI GFX Card
HDD : Samsung 160gb ide
OS : Windows XP SP3
USB wireless mouse and PS2 keyboard

Configure DRAM Timing by SPD : Enabled
[EDIT] this will give you CAS5 clocks and PL10 past 600MHz FSB
for PL9 past 600MHz FSB you need to manually set CAS4 timings

Voltage Configuration

i also disabled Multicore Computing under CPU section for max Superpi with single core otherwise enabled for 3D benching
